We have the power to speak life, but we also have the power to speak death.”
That truth hits deep. Every day, we are given opportunities to use our voice—our words—for good or harm. Whether we realize it or not, the things we say can shape someone’s day… or their life.
The Bible puts it plainly in Proverbs 18:21:
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
What does that mean for us?
It means our words aren’t neutral. A careless comment can crush someone’s spirit. But a simple word of encouragement, a reminder of God’s promises, or a prayer spoken in faith? That can breathe life into a weary heart.
And just as powerful as our words is the reality of our blessings.
“Whatever God blesses us with is to bless others as well.”
God doesn’t pour into us so we can sit full and satisfied. He fills us so we can overflow. Whether it’s a financial gift, a testimony, a word of wisdom, or even just peace in a storm—those blessings are meant to flow through us.
We are vessels, not vaults.
We are channels, not containers.
So today, ask yourself:
Let’s be intentional. Let’s be generous. Let’s speak life, and let our blessings become someone else’s breakthrough.
Lord, help me to be mindful of the words I speak. May they build, not break. Heal, not harm. Remind me that everything You give me is meant to glorify You and bless others. Make me a vessel of life, love, and light. Amen.
